I'm an all-round
designer and developer.

My name is Fergell Murphy. I am a full stack developer and graphic designer based in South Africa. I build web apps, write software, and design digital products for people who need more than a template — applications that load quickly, look intentional, and stay easy to maintain after launch.

I started in design and moved into programming because I wanted ownership of the full product: how it looks, how it feels on a phone, and how it behaves under real traffic. That mix still shapes every project. I sketch interfaces, write the front end, build the APIs, and ship web apps that are ready for real users.

A typical project starts with the audience and the constraint: a launch date, an existing brand if applicable. I design the key screens, agree on the stack, and build in the open so copy and structure can change before we polish. I would provide a first version for feedback as soon as possible to the client and iterate on it until it is ready for launch.

I treat performance as part of the design: optimised images and layouts that still make sense when the viewport is narrow and the connection is uneven.
